The 37 best spa hotels in Beppu (2024)

The AMANEK BEPPU YULA-RE is a lovely new hotel with a roof top pool and onsen, which makes it really nice. The rooms are modern and well equipped, and the staff are very friendly. Overall, this is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a relaxing getaway.

Newly opened hotel in the Hot-spring city, Beppu.Equipped with indoor gym, sauna, rooftop pool and onsen.Morning breakfast is great. I highly recommend including it in the reservation.I tried the “Washoku” which is Japanese style food. The rice is fresh, raw and fried fish, steamed seafood and vegetables. Plus they offer 10+ local side dishes. The staff are also very nice and gave me smoothie. You can enjoy relaxed breakfast.

I would give them minus 5 (-5) stars if I could. Two towers next to each other. I stayed in an old, small, ugly, not so clean, and overpriced room at the older building. Toilet bidet in the bathroom didn’t work for your rear, so I tried the ladies option and only had cold water, so not a pleasant surprise. The staff was told about this and nobody did anything. Coming back to the room the second night another “great” surprise: the bed was as left in the morning. No cleaning neither fresh towels either. After asking the reason for that they said THE PRICE OF THE ROOM DOES NOT INCLUDE THE CLEANING😳! First time in my whole life I heard that, and I have been all over the world. Maybe from now on in this country I will have to ask if a bed is included in the price of the room, because a hotel is a room with its minimal service expected, and cleaning a room is what you pay for... In any case, they should have mentioned that at check in, no matter what, which they didn’t. And no clean towels either? The girl at the front desk brought towels in minutes, but not the usual towels in the room, different tiny ones, so pretty much useless. One more thing, no free parking included at this hotel either, like most places. You park on a near building and it is 500 yen per day. So they want to make extra money for anything, even for cleaning your room, which is expected even in countries with so many ridiculous, stupid, and pointless policies like Japan. There is much to like and enjoy about this country, but also a huge amount of stupidity and robotic behavior with terrible customer service. They are very kind and have nice manners but they are completely unable to solve anything, and complaining is totally useless because they make no exceptions to solve their own created problems or mistakes. Nobody can make a decision to satisfy a customer if it is not written somewhere, so customer service is a real joke here. I have been in Japan many times and they are completely inflexible: programmed robots. And I am not a robot, so I can’t explain this type of unacceptable behavior when they are supposedly used to work with international visitors. We pay and we have to adapt to them, and never the other way around. The customer here is never right, so be prepared for that.

Highly recommended!!! Fantastic rooftoppool with great 360 view to the city, mountains and sea. Beautiful onsen, extremely comfy bad, and specious room. The ohly thing missing is a rooftop bar and a restaurant. Please don't bring kids, take them to Disney land or something like that, let the adults enjoy the hot baths.

The hotel itself is quite new and modern. However I was disappointed by the service offered:- Jacuzzi wasn't working- Sauna wasn't hot enough to make me sweat- I am travelling with my baby and upon arrival I was told by the receptionist that I need to pay 1000 extra yen per night for my baby for the breakfast. I told them that the baby is only 8 months and will not eat, however I had to pay the extra amount per night. This was not mentioned anywhere in advance so I felt disappointed.- The "baby" breakfast which I was forced to pay was really unhealthy and not suitable at all for a baby. It had spaghetti with ketchup and bacon. 🤯- The second morning I asked if instead of the "baby" breakfast they could just bring the same smoothie as the adults had or the steamed vegetables. They did not want to take anything different than the baby set which he was not able to eat.- The breakfast did NOT HAVE FRUIT! Please, add some fruit.- The parking is supposed to cost 500yen daily but instead I paid 1000yen for the first day. When I asked the reception they said there is nothing that can be done about it and still they charged me 500yen for the second day...- The gym closes at 9pm, why???? I wanted to exercise at night when the baby sleeps but I couldn't.Overall the hotel is nice but I felt it is too much money oriented and could be improved if it would be more customer oriented.

Such a great value for a great hotel. Firstly the rooms are bigger than most hotels in Japan that I have been too. We got an amazing view from our rooms - we can see both the mountains and the sea. The bathroom is also pretty spacious compared to other hotel with similar prices - it has an bathtub with a window and a very nice view. The rooftop pool and jacuzzi was amazing too - you can see the Beppu tower + sea on one side and the mountain on the other side. The public bath is very spacious also has city view and also an outdoor public bath with the same view. There is also a decent gym and washing machine. Location is only 5 mins walk from Beppu station and 5-7 mins walk to our bus station where we took the bus to Nagasaki. Lobby was also very well designed and amazing. Location is close to restaurants! Had a very pleasant stay.

(Translated by Google) I made a reservation with a good photo of HP because it was exceptional at the opening commemoration. The building and room are sophisticated and fashionable, and because it is like an iPad in the room, you can grasp the situation inside the building and the system of Heyazuke is epoch-making and convenient. It is also nice for women to have separate baths and toilets across the aisle. However, when I went to the vending machines on the 3rd and 14th floors to drink water around 23:00 in the middle of the night, I was preparing and couldn't buy it. ..I couldn't drink tap water because it wasn't mentioned as drinking water. → (We recommend that you bring water.)The infinity pool that I wanted to see for the time being can only be visited by swimwear wearers (you can go if you rent it for a fee, but there is no detailed description on the HP)I'm a little unfriendly. ..I felt the enthusiasm that it was built with the aim of becoming a first-class resort in anticipation of inbound tourists, but do you know Japanese hospitality (service industry) in the first place? When. ..Many of the customers and staff were young, but I think it would be better to hire a veteran to take advantage of the awareness of the concierge. The exterior was a very nice hotel, but the service aspect of the customer business was very disappointing m (_ _) m(Original)オープン記念で破格だったのとHPの写真が良さげで予約。

Our family (with grandparent) was entirely satisfied with this visit. 10/10. Outstanding service, public bath, and unforgettable breakfast! There was parking lot in front of the hotel. Highly recommended. I would definitely visit again! We met one Korean staff during breakfast today and she was super helpful and thoughtful. She made our visit more meaningful! Thank you.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Amanek Beppu, and I must say that it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The level of service and attention to detail truly made my stay memorable.Upon realizing that I had made a mistake with my booking dates, I was greeted by the incredibly polite and helpful staff member, Ishiduka Ann, as soon as I entered the lobby. Despite it being entirely my fault, she immediately apologized and took charge of the situation. She efficiently verified my booking number, consulted her colleagues at the concierge, and suggested that I cancel the wrong booking and make a fresh one to check in immediately. She even went the extra mile by recommending that I go back to Agoda to secure the same rate. I was seated comfortably in the lobby while she tirelessly went back and forth to assist me. Her thoughtfulness and dedication were truly commendable.Although I encountered some difficulty making a new booking online due to the hotel being fully booked for the day, Ishiduka promptly sought the assistance of her colleague to release a room online so that I could book it on the spot. She even made sure that my booking included breakfast. The level of service she provided was outstanding and went beyond my expectations. The hotel itself is incredibly new and visually stunning. I felt like a VIP from the moment I arrived, as I was offered welcome drinks, including a variety of juices, tea, and espresso coffee, available daily until 10 pm. The atmosphere reminded me of an exclusive executive lounge. Furthermore, the availability of amenities such as hairbrushes, toothbrushes, facial wash, and lotions was a thoughtful touch. However, the most delightful surprise was the selection of different Japanese Yukata (bath robes) available for guests to use. With a wide array of pretty prints to choose from and options available for both kids and adults, the hotel's attention to detail truly stood out.Amanek Beppu is conveniently located near a Lawson convenience store, various local eateries, and a mall with a supermarket, all within a short 15-minute walk. Moreover, the hotel's proximity to Beppu Train Station, just a 5-minute journey away, made transportation incredibly convenient. My room at Amanek Beppu was spacious, clean, and incredibly comfortable. The bed was large and provided a restful night's sleep. The separate areas for the toilet, washbasin, and shower/tub made it incredibly convenient for guests. To my surprise, I even found pajamas thoughtfully provided on the bed. All of this was offered at an unbelievably affordable rate of less than USD 150 per night. Additionally, the presence of a smart TV allowed for seamless mirroring and casting of music, adding a modern touch to the room.In conclusion, I cannot praise Amanek Beppu enough for its outstanding service, attention to detail, and exceptional comfort. From the moment I walked into the hotel until the time of check-out, the staff, particularly Ishiduka Ann, ensured that every aspect of my stay was flawless. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Beppu and looking for a truly remarkable experience.

The public bath was amazing but the shower in the room...oh lawd it's the best shower I've seen in a hotel room. Rooms are nice and big for a Japanese hotel. 5 mins walk from beppu station. Overall I would highly recommend. 10/10

The location is great, 3-5 minute walk to Beppu Station with many great restaurants nearby. Beppu Tower is also only a couple minutes away. The rooms are nicely designed and very spacious, probably at least double or triple the size of the average room in a standard business hotel. You can control the lights, AC, and TV with the tablet in the room, which was cool. I had a double room because it’s all that was available when I booked and I felt like 6 people could’ve fit lolThe staff were very helpful & kind and spoke fluent English, so if you can’t speak Japanese, don’t worryIt felt basically like a luxury hotel, but very affordable, so the value is really good. I’ll definitely stay here again if I come back to Beppu!

(Translated by Google) It was a beautiful hotel that opened last year and is still new.Is the bed a little stiff?I think the atmosphere in the room was good and it was easy to use.Only one ... There are few bath washrooms, washbasins, and hair dryers for the number of rooms ...I waited for the shower nakedI can see the congestion in the room, but I don't think I can go there forever, so it's better to go there. It was good because the hot spring is a hot springI went out for dinner, but had breakfast at the hotel.Overall it was good, but if you reconsider the bath, I would like to use it again.(Original)昨年オープンでまだ新しさがありキレイなホテルでしたベッドは少し硬めかなー?

This hotel changed my mind about Beppu (previous bad experience). It has a cool, relaxing, modern-Japanese vibe. I loved the pool and onsen, of course, and the evening drink service (¥1000 for free flowing beer, wine, sake, spirits!). The choose-your-own yukata is a nice touch. My room was pale wood with a comfortable bed - nice coffee too! The hotel itself is very close to the centre and the station etc. All the staff I spoke to were really lovely. I'd definitely stay again.

The staff are really kind and explain the nearby restaurants well. There were the most Japanese locals. Most of the guests came in family units and they looks like very quiet and well-ordered. I've been to many hotels nearby, but this is the best place. It is also good to swim in the evening. The night view of Beppu Tower from the swimming pool is really beautiful. The hot spring water is good, so my skin has become really clear. It was convenient to travel because there was also a restaurant in Tendong 30 seconds away and Beppustation 3min away.Just one suggestion is that the microwave is in the corner of the second floor, so it's hard to get there…. I want the microwave to be available on the first floor. The English speaker, The guy on the 1st floor restaurant and women on the 1st floor lobby are very friendly and kind. Thank you so much it was totally nice staying there.

Nice hotel trying to adopt technology, self checkin and out machines didn't work, staff had to go to 2 machines before entering manually, and smart checkout in the rooms didn't work either so the same process happened in checkout.Note that the onsen and infinity pool are not tattoo friendly. The onsen is nice, there's a 30C outdoor bath and 35C indoor bath, I wish it was a little bit hotter. The cold bath is 25C. The sauna is perfect.Location is very close to beppu station.

great location, very near the station. the room is spacious. the onsen place is a must-go, but you can only appreciate it in full if you go in the morning. the view is great! and the rooftop presents an even better view.

Everything was really good! The rooms tidy and clean, the staff was great and professional, we stayed for two nights, arrived in the middle of a night and staff was available and very nice, we got everything we needed, was it more pillows or fresh towels every day!Air conditioning was super, breakfast was delicious, there was a laundry room and so many more facilities we did not have time to use unfortunately, like the gym and rooftop pool! There is also a public bath there (Onsen), but people with tattoos are not allowed.Still it's not that big of a deal and we had a great time (and view)!Oh and the location is great! 4 min walk from the Beppu station!

This hotel was a breath of fresh air in our 4 week Japan trip. Their service was kind, the lobby was comfortable and spacious, the hotel itself is in a great, central location, and our room was large and cozy. We stayed for a week and enjoyed the unlimited drinks that they offered, their rooftop pool, and the overall ambience of the building. :)

Clean hotel room with great alcoholic welcome drinks! We got a family room on the 12th floor and had a good view of part of the Beppu sea.No onsite parking but hotel has partnered with nearby parking lot with discounted parking rate.Only gripe is that the public onsen bath got crowded at peak hour at night and the changing room was not adequate to manage the guest load, changing room felt cramped and there were only 4 hairdryers to go around.

Josephine Goh — Google review

Great location if you want to base in Beppu and highly depend on public transport, very walkable to the train station and restaurants nearby. Room size is big by Japanese standards and public bath facilities is nice to have.

Convenient location about half a km from Beppu Station. Check-in was easy. The pool is brilliant and very warm despite being on the 14th floor! Views from the pool are excellent. The room is massive, with a king-sized bed with a separate toilet and shower/tub room (we booked a delux superior room). Some people grumbled about the lack of closets, but I'd rather have more room to move around than break up the space for a closet. By far one of the most spacious rooms I've stayed in during my visit to Japan. Fortunate enough to be able to have a massage, which was well worth the money. We were here for 3 nights/4 days. Would (hope to) come back!

Stumbled upon a gem in Beppu! This hotel's proximity to the train station makes it a breeze to reach. What truly sets it apart is its unique design—definitely not your average hotel. The spacious rooms with their own onsen baths are a game-changer, offering a touch of luxury and relaxation. While cleanliness could be improved slightly, the overall value for money and unbeatable location make this spot a winner in my book!

For our convenience, we chose to stay at the Amanek hotel close to Beppu station. The Japanese western room is spacious. We could see the historical Beppu tower and the famous Ougiyama through our window. Although we didn't use the public bath and the infinity pool, we enjoyed the view on the rooftop. We did wish we could use the impressive heated pool if we remember to bring our swimsuits. The coin laundry was very convenient. The breakfast was decent. Although there are a few details that could be improved, overall we enjoyed our stay. Great appreciated the hotel staff for keeping our forgotten passports and cash envelopes safe. As Americans and being frequent travelers to European countries, we had a side effect of keeping our belongings inside of the room safe. Japan has impressed me again. So as the hotel crews are so considerate and helpful.

Wow this is a great hotel. We had the king Supreme room and it was a dream. Big comfy bed, L shaped couch, the washroom was and entire room for bathing and shower with the toilet separated. They have the best infinity pool ever on the roof (14th floor) and they keep the temperature just right at 31c. You can see all around the city and mountains. Sauna and cold bath up there as well as a jacuzzi. Sauna and cold bath were excellent, never used the jacuzzi. The onsen on the floor below is clean and nice as well. Had a massage at the relaxation center and it was dreamy. The location is very central to the station and surrounding transit. This is the place to stay in Beppo.

Jay Dubya — Google review

great location and hotel is comfortable, near delicious local restaurants and laundry machines work with the room card instead of only coins. the lobby is very comfortable for short breaks in the afternoon between sightseeing, serving free coffee, juice and water till 10pm.
