This thriller kept me on my toes with all the wild things going on. The story follows CIA agent and assassin, Christopher Burell who uncovers an unusual creature/alien type living amongst humans. We go inside of a corporation who’s doing things they shouldn’t be doing. Christopher teams up with a few others to find the truth but there is so much chaos that it’s not as simple as it seems.

This was an exciting read full of action. I loved the political stuff thrown in. It was well done and created a truly chaotic, dystopian world. The detective work was excellent. I thought Christopher’s character development was on point. He stayed true to himself. He didn’t appear to know everything but he was good at his job. His assassin skills were great. I loved how he was portrayed. The other characters were also excellent. They didn’t have as much depth to them as I would have liked, but they all played well within the story. I also enjoyed how the story unfolded. It wasn’t pointed out right away, but I knew something big was going to happen. This kept me on my toes as I anticipated the outcome. Speaking of the outcome, it didn’t disappoint. Truly enjoyed it.

Overall, this book was action packed and moved at a pretty fast pace. It’s written well and hits all the spots of a sci-fi thriller. The author has a way of writing really exciting and fun thrillers. I’ve read his other books and have enjoyed them as well.

There are secret organizations planning schemes on a global scale that most people are oblivious to. It takes agents from within who are against those same plans to want to remove the rug from beneath them and shake things up from happening. Interestingly enough, Hollywood celebrities, politicians, and newsanchors are somewhat similar. Could they very well be just another speaking figure to aid in a bigger plan, a bit of research inspired by this book as a guide could potentially produce interesting results.

In "Silent Thunder," Stephen C. Perkins intrigues readers with the behind-the-scenes that occurs right under society's noses. It's as if two worlds are simultaneously happening, and it would leave others to wonder what is going on and why it isn't public knowledge. Graham Bonnet, a computer tech and programming analyst who is more of a "jack-of-all-trades," life and identity changed forever as he held the key to important information. Converting his original name to Benjamin Ross Featherstone, receiving a new face via plastic surgery, and working within a company fronting for secret intelligence, his life would be a wild ride. The ability to remain cautious, not to trust anyone, and leave your entire existence behind, could be tough but for a greater cause. Christoper Burrell, an independent-minded CIA agent, decides to work alongside Robert Vincent, their plans are to unveil as much as they can on Hollywood, politicians, and whoever else that might play an important role for the Company.

I enjoy reading Stephen's books because his character development and plots, keeps me interested in his page-turning creations. Jampacked with so much information that would leave you in a investigative mind-set, make it an even better reading experience. I highly recommend this book to others.

great sci-fi thriller!

Initially, I approached this book with a hint of skepticism, uncertain if it would capture my interest. However, as I delved into its pages, I found myself surprisingly drawn in and captivated by its narrative. While it might not claim the title of an all-time favorite, I can confidently say that I did come to enjoy it for what it offers. The book in question holds the intriguing allure of a heart-pounding sci-fi thriller. This genre's characteristic blend of suspense and futuristic concepts is skillfully employed here, resulting in a story that keeps you on the edge of your seat, constantly yearning to uncover the next twist and turn. The art of suspense is honed to perfection, leaving readers hungry for more. One of the book's standout qualities lies in the mastery with which the plot is revealed. Instead of a hurried divulgence of all its secrets, the story unfolds gradually, building a palpable sense of anticipation as it progresses. This deliberate pacing serves to heighten the intrigue, ensuring that readers are held in suspense until the very last page. In tandem with the author's adept storytelling, the characters within the book are thoughtfully crafted and well-developed. They possess a depth that goes beyond mere archetypes, rendering them relatable and multi-dimensional. This level of character complexity adds an additional layer of engagement, as readers become invested not only in the plot's outcome but also in the fates of the characters themselves. In conclusion, despite my initial reservations, I wholeheartedly recommend the book "Silent Thunder." Its ability to seamlessly blend suspense, sci-fi elements, and skillful character development creates an immersive reading experience that lingers in the mind long after the final page is turned.

Stephen Perkins’ Silent Thunder: A Science Fiction Mystery Spy Thriller is the perfect combination of a sci-fi mystery with lots of thrilling spy action included. Right at the start there’s a reverend monsignor being attacked by black-robed figures. That’s only the beginning! As I continued reading, I discovered that the monsignor’s murder had far more meaning to the story than meets the eye.

When CIA Christopher Burrell receives orders to investigate an assassination, he begins to piece together incidents indicating that a serious threat to humankind exists. He’s the best of the best but knows he cannot battle the unknown alone. He partners with an FBI agent named Robert Vincent for help. I became more fascinated with this story when I realized there is a much deeper story as the two team up to investigate “a sinister sound and light frequency experiment”. The author adds several intertwining characters or shall I say, predators with chameleon-like abilities who aim to deceive and kill both men. As a race against time takes place, the agents have only the other to trust. In the meantime, an imminent battle against those who silently rule the world behind the scenes emerges as they seek to steal minds and destroy their prey.

I like the way that Perkins carefully plotted this story leaving me guessing what would happen at every page turn. The author pays close attention to detail making the book come to life in one’s imagination. To anyone I share this book with, I will tell them they will never know what’s coming next. From page one to the end, they won’t be disappointed.

A truly intriguing and fascinating book!Silent Thunder: A Science Fiction Mystery Spy Thriller, was a thrilling and engrossing sci-fi mystery that kept me engaged and absorbed in its story! Christopher Burrell is a CIA agent/assassin who gets caught up in a tangled web of deceit within the government that has him questioning what he thought he knew about his world. With the plight he has ahead of him, he must figure out where this tangled web starts so he can end it before they can end humanity. With no one to turn to, he must rely on unlikely allies to help unravel this mystery. Friends who he once trusted with his life may not be so friendly after all.

I didn’t think I would be as engaged in this book as I was, but with the twists and turns this book takes, it kept me reading until the end, wondering where this end would lead me. It had me wondering about the life we lead now. With technology taking off the way it has in the last 20 years or so, it had me thinking about the conspiracy theories that are out there and if maybe some of them could be true. I wonder if that’s what the author wanted for his readers. To question and ponder the possibility of what is and what isn’t.

I would recommend reading this for all who are interested in mysteries and the political side of things. This was a great read! The way the author intertwined the sci-fi with mystery/thriller will have you at the edge of your seat!

Silent Thunder: A Science Fiction Mystery Spy Thriller, by Stephen Perkins, delivers just what is advertised. Reminiscent of both the James Bond franchise and the Jack Reacher series, there’s a lot to like about this page turner.

The FBI and the CIA often have a professional rivalry that precludes their agents from working together any more than is absolutely necessary. However, in this thrilling, high stakes adventure story, Robert Vincent, one of the Bureau’s finest, and Christopher Burrel, a seasoned CIA operative, team up when they realize their cases are connected.

At first, they think the frequency experiment that harnesses light and sound to deadly effect has a conventional human antagonist behind it. As they delve deeper into the mystery, though, they find that the truth is a lot more bizarre than they could have ever imagined. Now, it will take all of their considerable ingenuity to stop a threat that might prove to be extraterrestrial in origin.

Silent Thunder by Stephen Perkins is a science fiction, mystery, spy thriller that kept me turning page after page for a whole night. I love the fact that the novel is full of tension, intrigue and action. In this narrative, the main character Christopher Burell, a CIA agent and skilled assassin, stumbles upon a shocking revelation—a mysterious creature or alien lurking in the midst of humanity. In addition to this, the writing style of the author made me picture each scene with details in my mind. The approach to the supernatural is so well done that I felt quite intrigued all alone the reading. I enjoyed the book very much; I recommend it 100%.

Mystery thriller

A maverick CIA assassin and an FBI agent team up to investigate a new deadly weapon. Christopher and his new friend and partner are on the hunt, and in this immersive and richly descriptive book, we are brought along the wild ride of clues, intrigue, plots , and betrayals. The author certainly has a way with words, here is a descriptive scene: "He listened for the bullet settling into the chamber. Like a swift wind’s strong breath snapping a twig, the trigger yielded to the sweep of his finger." While such rich language can be off-putting to some, I found it to be eloquent and helpful in setting the mood throughout the book. A fantastic mystery!

I see many raving reviews about “Silent Thunder”, but for me, it leaves much to be desired. The entire plot is just too far-fetched for my taste. The chapters do not follow upon each other in a logical way and in addition, this book would be a nightmare for all people suffering from hemophobia because of the many and graphic references to blood, especially towards the end of the book. Stephen Perkins may be a gifted author, but his work is not my choice. I was relieved that the book was only 211 pages long in its entirety. The highest rating I can give this science fiction thriller is three stars.
