Saturday Morning presenter James Martin awkwardly shut down his guest Lisa Allen's request as the show abruptly cut to a break during the latest episode.

He welcomed Lisa, chefs Philip Howard and Alysia Vasey and All Saints legend Shaznay Lewis to the show as they went through a series of delicious looking recipes together, including blackened chicken with truffle salad, and cod with a brown butter sauce.

They also did a BBQ special, as the show's social media page teased: "Get set for BBQ season with these brilliant recipes for Mackerel with Soy and Yuzu Sauce, Monkfish with Sauce Vierge, Prawns, Mackerel en Papillote and Scallops."

But in one moment during the show, James handed chef Lisa a huge loaf of bread, as he started to introduce a break, to which she shared her shock at the huge portion.

As James told viewers what was coming up next, he turned to Lisa and said: "Do you want a knife," to which she replied: "Yeah I think so. Can I have a bigger knife?"

James abruptly responded "No," as Lisa awkwardly laughed before the show went to an advert break. Viewers were seemingly unimpressed with the line-up during the latest episode, as they took to social media to share their thoughts.

One said: "No... The gobby forager yet again on #jamesmartin," as another swiped: "Thank goodness I’m working!!"

A third chipped in: "Same guests on rotation since it started," while a fourth raged: "This program is uncomfortable to watch. The interviews are boring and the sound production is awful."

But many viewers shared their joy at the recipes, as one said: "Oh my god! Possible the most James Martin dish ever, looks incredible. And that ham looks amazing."

A second agreed as they saw a picture of a recipe, saying: "Looks lovely. Right up my street."
